Ford E Series V8 Chassis

Ford E350 & E450 V8 2021+ Chassis

The Ford E-Series motorhome chassis, including the E-350 and E-450, is one of the most widely used and well-established platforms for Class C motorhomes in North America. Built on Ford’s long-running cutaway van design, it is engineered to support the weight and demands of a fully equipped motorhome while maintaining reliable road performance and serviceability. Current models (2021 and newer) are powered by Ford’s 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, providing strong low-end torque suited for moving the weight of an RV, climbing grades, and towing when needed. The primary difference between the two versions lies in their capacity, as the E-350 is typically used for lighter or shorter motorhomes while the E-450 features heavier-duty suspension components, larger brakes, and a higher gross vehicle weight rating to support larger coaches with additional amenities. Because the E-Series has been used by RV manufacturers for decades, it has become one of the most common chassis found under Class C motorhomes, valued for its durability, straightforward maintenance, and the widespread availability of parts and service across North America, making it a proven and dependable foundation for long-distance RV travel.
