This kit uses a flat plate that is held in place by the leaf spring U-bolts on the rear axle. Check to ensure there is enough exposed U-bolt below the nut to accommodate the factory nut and washer once the 1/2-inch thick plate is installed above them. If you do not have enough exposed U-bolt, order one of the U-bolt replacement kits. For U-bolts with a square top, order kit 590050-00. For U-bolts with a round top, order kit 590050-10.
CHECK YOUR GVWR TO ENSURE CORRECT FIT!
It's easy to get mixed up when checking your vehicle weight rating. Ford F53 suspension upgrades are designed to fit a specific GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). We have provided a photo (second photo after main image) as an example to help you determine the correct rating for your RV. You can find this sticker inside your RV on the wall behind the driver's seat most of the time.
Please ensure you DO NOT use the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) as a reference for fitment. This will give you the combined weight rating of your chassis and towing a vehicle. This will be a larger rating than the GVWR and change the application, in many cases, causing fitment issues.
Motorhome chassis manufacturers use different rear axles for different weight ratings on the chassis.
