RV Rallies in 2021
In many ways, the year 2020 was very challenging. Due to the restrictions of COVID, we all became limited on the destinations we could go to. However, the desire to explore and go on adventures is part of our DNA. As a result, not surprisingly, the RV industry has seen some rapid growth. Many articles came out in 2020 on how RVing is the “…best socially-distanced travel alternative to flying and cruising”. It was as if every network, newspaper, and blogger simultaneously discovered how cool RVs were. This rampant coverage triggered unprecedented demand from the public. RV manufacturers, hampered by Covid-19 shutdowns and related supply shortages, are struggling to keep up with the extraordinary demand the pandemic triggered. This means that if you want a specific brand-new RV now, it could be hard to find. All this demand has made the need for RV rallies higher than ever. We witnessed this surge for ourselves when we attended the FMCA Rally in Perry, GA. If you haven’t been to an RV rally, maybe you don’t understand why people go in the 1st place. For many attendees, the primary reason they come to RV rallies is for seminar programs’ learning opportunities. Where else can you find so much excellent RV information available in one place?
Take our Steering and Suspension seminar, for example. It was by far one of the largest attended events we’ve ever put on. Many of those who showed up were 1st-time attendees. This seminar allowed us to help a bunch of new coach owners understand how these systems work together and what upgrades can make a coach ride and handle better. Our “free RV inspection” sign-up sheet filled up quickly, too, and we were able to conduct more than 30 inspections at this one rally. All of this is great news, and it gives us hope for the future as we see this COVID pandemic come closer to its end. In short, RV Rallies are back, and it’s time for more RV enthusiasts to attend! So, yes, there is a considerable demand for RVs, but this is temporary. RV manufacturers will eventually meet the increased demand, and that demand will subside to typical. The campgrounds will expand, and new campgrounds will emerge as the reservations come back to Earth. In the meantime, keep exploring this great world of ours.
