Introducing KONI Special adjustable shocks and KONI Special Active, the next generation of premium shock absorbers that offer superior handling without compromise. It is the latest advancement in the KONI product portfolio. Utilizing the most recent generation of KONI’s patented Frequency Selective Damping technology, it controls large body motions and cornering forces but smooths expansion joints and rough roads for improved comfort. Both Special Adjustable and Special Active are now available for the popular Mercedes Sprinter W906 and W907 vans. Drivers and passengers alike will experience unsurpassed comfort and handling around the tight corners and over the roughest roads.

KONI adjustable shock absorbers are the product of choice for motorhomes with large capacity Independent Front Suspensions (IFS). These shocks feature independent bump and rebound that give you control over large inputs and a smooth ride over highway roads. The external adjustment feature allows you to increase rebound force to compensate for wear or tailor the ride to your specific preference.

Adjustment Notes:

Typically the shocks will be shipped at the loosest adjustment setting. We can pre-adjust your shocks before shipping for a fee of $10.00 per set ($5.00 per shock). If you would like the shocks pre-adjusted to one of our recommended settings stated in the additional information & applications tab, please choose your selection when adding them to cart.

Applications:

Dodge Sprinter 3500 4 X 2 (2007-2009), Freightliner Sprinter 3500 4 X 2 (2007-2018), Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 4 X 2 (2010-Current)

Application Notes:

These struts are manually adjustable prior to installation. Once installed, they cannot be adjusted without removal. Vehicle alignment required after installation.

For customers prioritizing the best ride quality rather than a more dramatic increase in stability, we would recommend the 8705-1331 FSD front struts.

Recommended Adjustment Settings:

  • Touring Tune- Adjust to 50% of max, approximately 1 full turn clockwise from the minimum adjustment point. This provides an increase in stability with very minimal increase in ride firmness.
  • Performance Tune- Adjust to 75% or more of max, 1.5 turns or more. This provides a dramatic increase in stability with a moderate increase in ride firmness. On our own 2021 Sprinter 3500, we are running our struts at the maximum setting, approximately 2 full turns from the minimum adjustment point.
