1139-146 Roadmaster Rear Auxiliary Sway Bar for Ford F53, 1 1/2" Diameter

Roadmaster anti-sway bars are built to offer significantly more resistance to sway than stock bars

Bigger is better - Roadmaster anti-sway bars have a thicker diameter than stock bars (often, a quarter to three-eighths of an inch more). Each incremental increase in diameter has an exponential effect on performance - on average, torsional roll stiffness is increased by 30 percent with every eighth-of-an-inch increase in diameter. In plain English, RSS anti-sway bars offer up to 90 percent more resistance to sway.

A high-grade alloy - RSS anti-sway bars are made of 4140 "chromoly" steel (a chrome and molybdenum alloy) which is considerably stronger and more durable than the standard spring steel (a 1020 grade) used in many stock anti-sway bars.

A better pivot point - RSS anti-sway bars have polyurethane bushings, which, unlike the rubber used in stock bushings, is impervious to gas, oil and ozone corrosion, is more resistant to abrasion, and doesn't buckle under heavier load weights.

This part is a rearward facing add on (auxiliary) rear anti-sway bar. The factory rear anti-sway bar is not removed. Each kit comes complete with heavy-gauge mounting hardware, easy-to-follow instructions, and the bushing lubricant.

Applications:

Ford F53 V10 with 16,000 lb GVWR (2006-2021); Ford F53 V10 with 18,000 lb GVWR (2006-2021)

Application Notes:

No Thor Outlaw Toy Haulers. Also, some coach builders, such as Tiffin, will add extra bracing that may interfere with installation. Please verify your coach has adequate clearance.

CHECK YOUR GVWR TO ENSURE CORRECT FIT!

It's easy to get mixed up when checking your vehicle weight rating. Ford F53 suspension upgrades are designed to fit a specific GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). We have provided a photo (second photo after main image) as an example to help you determine the correct rating for your RV. You can find this sticker inside your RV on the wall behind the driver's seat most of the time.

Please ensure you DO NOT use the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) as a reference for fitment. This will give you the combined weight rating of your chassis and towing a vehicle. This will be a larger rating than the GVWR and change the application, in many cases, causing fitment issues.

Motorhome chassis manufacturers use different rear axles for different weight ratings on the chassis.

The wife and I installed this in an afternoon on our Itasca Sunstar 27n. Instructions were just OK, but much clearer watching the utube videos online. Took a short drive with several curves and some off angle bumps. The anti-sway bar does help cut down on the tippy body roll and side to side bounce. I did add front Sumo Springs at the same time so these two mods together made a significant improvement in the handling feel. -Tim H
