SuperSteer® Sprinter Wheel Centering Tool set SSWCT-001

The SuperSteer® Sprinter wheel centering tool is designed to correct off-center wheel/stud combinations that can cause wheel hop, vibrations, and premature tire wear. Because of the weight of the wheel/tire assembly, you may have an off center wheel due to hub pilot spacing. Due to the weight of the wheel, the upper and lower pilots allow some space between the wheel stud and the wheel. This can cause an "egg-shaped" motion to occur which could cause the above ride quality issues.

Designed for Sprinter chassis with 14mm wheel studs with factory captive flat washers.

Sold as a set of 3. Remove tool and reinstall factory lug nuts before driving. Torque to mfg. specifications.

To learn more about how these work, please read our blog post Sprinter 3500 Class C Upgrade Series: Part 5

user Instructions:

This reusable tool is used at the 12, 8 and 4 o'clock positions when mounting the tires. Once the tire/wheel has been mounted with the tool, tighten lug nuts on the remaining studs to secure it in place. Remove the 3 tools from the 12, 8 and 4 o'clock positions and tighten the remaining 3 lug nuts where the tools were. Torque all nuts to mfg. specifications.

This product is not designed to be a permanent centering solution. Remove tool and reinstall factory lug nuts before driving. Torque to mfg. specifications.

If you have HiSpec alloy wheels on your Sprinter chassis, these are a Must Have. The center hole in the HiSpec wheel is about 1/8" larger than the Mercedes steel wheel, and the HiSpec lug nuts are flat-faced. Your wheel will run eccentric to the hub despite your best efforts to center it. These tapered nuts center the wheel perfectly every time, front or rear duals. Cured the 60mph shimmy! - Dave Mordecai
